Portable Closets-Storage Space For a Couple Bucks

By theguru-reports

If the words "portable closet" makes you think of something that remotely resembles a moving box that you tote from place to place, you'd be way off base. A portable closet is a good way to add additional storage space to your life, without a huge expense. The keyword in these products is their portability. There are a number of storage solutions you can use, including leaving the stuff in a moving box, but these portables provide instant shelving that can move easily.

Attention! Critical Information to Follow

When you are considering these closets, here's what should get most of your attention.

Weight (lighter is better, but too light may not hold up to frequent use)
Quality of construction (how strong are the zippers and the fabric; is the canvas or plastic waterproof, does it have a solid bottom, or just fabric)
Size needed to handle your storage (what are you putting into the portable closet)
Do you need "pockets" or compartments inside the portable closet
Look of the unit (is it going to be hidden or in plain view)

Get Portable Closets Most Anywhere

Portable closets are widely available. I've featured a few recommended items on this page. You can spend from $20 to $100 on a portable unit for your living space. Check the type of frame that is used in these closets. Plastic makes them lighter, as compared to metal, but also makes the units a little less sturdy. Wheels are included on some of the higher priced models, but I don't see this feature in and of itself as being a "must" have. You'll find portables in the largest sizes at about 5 feet high by four feet wide. Measure your intended space for the unit before you get it home.

Use 'Em Anywhere Too

You can use these units in lots of locations. Attics and garages are just a couple of ideas. Extra storage for guests is another use of portable closets. Whether your plan is to "archive" clothes from the past or just add a little extra storage space, the economics of portable closets as compared to building shelves or designing a complete closet system are unbeatable.
